About This Service

Depression is not a character flaw. It is a clinical condition.

Depression looks different for different people. Sometimes it is the textbook picture — persistent sadness, inability to get out of bed, crying without reason. More often, it looks like going through the motions. Functional on the outside. Empty on the inside. High-performing but not present.

For military veterans and service members, depression frequently accompanies PTSD, transition stress, and identity disruption after service. For executives and high-performers, it shows up as achieving everything and feeling nothing — building the life and not being able to feel it.

Depression responds well to treatment. Therapy — especially CBT and behavioral activation approaches — has strong evidence for both mild-to-moderate and more severe depression. The key is access. That is what we provide.

Frequently Asked

Quick answers.

How do I know if what I am feeling is depression or just a rough patch?
A rough patch resolves in days to a few weeks once circumstances change. Depression persists for two weeks or longer regardless of circumstances and includes symptoms like loss of interest, sleep changes, low energy, difficulty concentrating, or hopelessness. If you are unsure, the first session is partly a clinical assessment to clarify what you are dealing with.
Is depression therapy effective without medication?
For mild to moderate depression, therapy alone — particularly CBT and behavioral activation — has strong evidence and often works as well as medication. For severe depression, the combination of therapy plus medication has the best outcomes. We will give you our honest read at intake.
I have been depressed for a long time. Can therapy really change that?
Yes. Persistent depressive disorder (long-term, lower-grade depression) responds to the same treatments as episodic depression — it just often requires more time. Many people who have been depressed for years assume that is just who they are. It is not.
Do you see clients with postpartum depression?
Yes. Postpartum and perinatal depression are common areas of focus. Telehealth specifically helps new mothers who would otherwise struggle to get to in-person sessions in the first months after birth.
