About This Service

Not every challenge is a clinical issue.

Life coaching at Legacy Online Counseling is for people who are not in crisis — they are just stuck. They know what they want but cannot seem to get there. Or they do not know what they want, and that is the problem. Coaching provides the structure, accountability, and honest feedback to get moving.

Our coaching is available for clients ages 13 and older. It is forward-focused and action-oriented — less about processing the past, more about building the future. It is a shorter commitment than traditional therapy and is designed for people who are ready to work.

Coaching is not covered by most insurance plans, but it is a direct investment in where you are going.

Frequently Asked

Quick answers.

What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?
Therapy treats clinical conditions (anxiety, depression, trauma) and has medical-record implications. Coaching is forward-focused, action-oriented, and not insurance-based. Coaching is for people who are functioning well but want direction, accountability, and structure to get unstuck on a goal. We will tell you up front which one fits your situation.
Is life coaching covered by insurance?
No. Coaching is not a clinical service and is not covered by health insurance plans. It is a direct out-of-pocket investment. Some clients use HSA / FSA funds depending on their plan; ask your administrator. Contact us for current coaching rates.
How long is a typical coaching engagement?
Most clients engage for eight to twelve sessions, often weekly at the start and shifting to bi-weekly. Some continue longer for sustained accountability around big goals. There is no minimum commitment.
Do you coach teenagers?
Yes — coaching is available from age 13. For teens, we focus on goal-setting, executive function, identity, and transition planning. Parents are involved at developmentally appropriate levels but the coaching relationship is with the teen.
Do you coach athletes for mental performance?
Yes. Mental toughness work is a core fit for coaching — for high-school athletes building toward scholarship recruiting, college athletes managing in-season pressure, and pro-track performers who need someone in their corner on the head-game side. We work on focus, pressure management, recovery from setbacks, identity outside the sport, and the consistency that separates good from great. This is performance coaching, not clinical sports psychology — if you need clinical care alongside, we can coordinate.
